Western Christian College
Faculty and Staff with Ten Years of Service
Lorraine Morgan Murray

Lorraine Murray's (b 1942) parents are Ross and Jennie Morgan. She was born at Barman, Manitoba, and received her elementary education in a nearby country school and her high school at Carman. She graduated as valedictorian from the commercial course at Western Christian College in 1960.

On October 13, 1962, Lorraine married John C. Murray and they have three children: Darla (1964), Rhonda (1966), and Randal (1970), all graduates of Western.

Lorraine worked in the business office and post office at Western Christian College (1960-62) prior to her marriage. While the Murrays were living in Glasgow, Montana, she was payroll clerk and assistant bookkeeper for Morgen & Oswood Construction Co., a general contractor (1962-66), except for six months pregnancy leave.

At Weyburn, she was been employed as church secretary (1968-69) and as secretary in the principal's office (1970-89).

Lorraine taught Bible Classes at Glasgow, Weyburn, Radville and at Clearview Christian Camp. For 20 years she has been a member of the Women's Service Club and served as secretary of the local organization for two terms. She also serves as secretary of the North Weyburn hamlet (1982-89).

Besides the daily and monthly routines of attendance, grades, and other regular secretarial duties, Lorraine was responsible for the organization and proper functioning of college graduation, high school graduation, and farewell/awards night. She is a very capable and efficient secretary and her office has been a smooth- running operation. Principals and faculty are very fortunate to have had her in charge.

In addition, Lorraine enjoyed very much her daily contact with the students. It is always good to note their growing toward maturity from grade 10 to the senior class. It is truly a good experience to belong to the Western family of staff and students.

Lorraine has been a faithful fan at athletic events throughout the years.
